The Brief

After having been shortlisted for a Revo award in 2021 for a recycled ‘poppies’ cross-mall display using around 700 poppies, we set a bigger target of making 2,500 unique poppies from recycled plastic bottles to create a cascading canopy and cross-mall Remembrance Day showcase in Windsor Yards for 2022.

The Strategy

The initial target of creating 2,500 poppies was smashed, with an amazing 3,700 poppies being cut, decorated, and some strung for cross-mall use. The resultant canopy bled down a roof and across a main footfall mall in the shopping centre so that it could be seen from each of the three main approaches. The final display went live ahead of Remembrance Day and remained in-situ for almost two weeks, generating interest, local press coverage, and positive feedback for both its creativity and presence.
