The Brief
An initiative to revitalise city spaces through the medium of street art – brightening walls and outdoor areas and engaging the community.
The Strategy
Running in late May, sites across the city centre became the canvas for some incredible murals, created by a line-up of internationally-renowned street artists alongside some of Chelmsford’s very own talented local artists.
The Results
The project brought a new lease of life to previously ‘blank’ spaces, leaving a permanent trail of Street Art that has remained in place for all to enjoy. Several the pieces saw artists engage with different local groups to provide inspiration for their designs and to help tell our city’s story including, Scouts, Girl Guides, Chelmsford Seas Cadets, Chelmsford’s Women’s Safety, City of Chelmsford Mencap, Lords of the Swords, our local market traders, and the North Avenue Youth Centre.
